Data Visualization Analysis
This data visualization was created by Tamás Varga on Tableau, titled “ 2024 Paris Olympics Medal Race .” It showcases how many medals and what position each country was in, each day, over the course of this year’s summer Paris Olympics. The strengths of this data visualization are that we can easily understand how many medals a country won at the Paris Olympics. It also has a good breakdown to compare the total gold, silver, and bronze medals won. Another positive of this visualization is that you’re able to search for a specific country, so you don’t have to look through the entire chart. I find that it’s an interesting data visualization as it’s informative, creative, and interactive, however, too much information can also be the downfall of a good data visualization. The weaknesses of this data visualization are that it’s too difficult to follow. The number of lines connecting from day to day are similar colours, making it confusing to follow along. Also, ...
